✨ Let’s spread our wings and support an amazing cause! ✨
We are so incredibly blessed in Clark County to have partners like the Winchester Kiwanis. They do so much to uplift our students and families, especially through their wonderful Walk with a Child program, which directly supports local families when they need it most. 💙
Now, we have a unique and fun way to give back! The Kiwanis are hosting a Butterfly Carving Class to raise funds for Walk with a Child.

🦈 Wow, what a JAW-SOME first day of school! 🦈
It was truly "all hands on deck" today at Shearer Elementary, and our amazing Shark community absolutely crushed it! From the first morning bell to the final afternoon wave goodbye, the energy was incredible.
We want to send a massive THANK YOU to everyone who made today a swimming success:
Central Office Staff: For the extra leadership, support, and helping hands on the ground. Our Phenomenal School Staff & Teachers: For welcoming our little Sharks with open arms, big smiles, and endless enthusiasm. Our Custodial Crew: For keeping our school sparkling clean and safe. Our Transportation Team: For getting our students to and from school safely (and navigating that first-day traffic like pros!). Our Food Service Team: For keeping everyone fueled up and ready to learn with delicious meals.
It takes a whole village—and a whole school of fish—to make day one this special. We are so proud of our Sharks and can’t wait to dive back into learning tomorrow! 🌊

There’s nothing quite like the energy before the first day of school! Today, our staff reconnected with our community during our annual tour and refreshed our skills to make this school year the best one yet.
A special thank you to Jeff, our CCPS bus driver, for leading the way, and to Patti and her team at DQ for treating our staff to breakfast sandwiches this morning—your support means the world to us! ❤️
The classrooms are ready, the halls are waiting, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back tomorrow morning.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing Shearer families who stopped by for our Back to School Open House tonight! It was absolutely wonderful to welcome our brand-new Shark families and catch up with so many familiar faces from last year.
We also want to give a massive shout-out to our fantastic community partners. By sharing your incredible resources tonight, you perfectly showed our Sharks what it means to be an Engaged Citizen investing in our community, right in line with our Portrait of a Clark County Learner!

Growing Greatness at Shearer Elementary!
Our staff had an incredible Opening Day event today, and the energy was unmatched! We spent the day connecting, getting inspired, and gearing up for an amazing year ahead. We are officially ready to cultivate success, foster community, and grow greatness in every single classroom this year!
The halls are quiet for now, but not for long... We can’t wait to see all of our students on Wednesday!
Fresh Look, Fresh Start! ✂️✨
Our Free Back-to-School Haircuts event, hosted by the Clark County FRYSC on Monday, was a huge success!
Not only did students get fresh cuts to step into the new school year with confidence, but families also had the opportunity to complete their Online Registration (OLR) to get ready for the upcoming year.

Our team had a fantastic day of professional growth! Staff members engaged in vibrant, student-centered learning with UK Next Gen, while others deepened their instruction through CKEC math training with Mark Helton. We are excited to bring these fresh, joyful learning experiences back into our classrooms for our students!
